Señores: soy nieta de María Teresa Doti y José Beneventano, de Sasso. Sé que hay parientes allí pero hemos perdido contacto hace ya, 22 años aproximadamente. Mis abuelos vinieron a la Argentina no juntos, primero mi abuelo José en 1928 y después mi abuela, con dos hijos varones Roque Antonio Pasacual y Miguel Beneventano, en el 1933 o 34. Los padres de mi abuela María Teresa Doti se llamaban: GIUSEPPINA PESOLANI Y MIGUEL DOTI DE MICHELI.
Quisiera saber si hay algún pariente allá, que se seguro los hay y algo para poder comunicarme, dirección, mail, facebook, etc....

My grandmother ( Madeline) was born in Sasso di Catalda around 1876. her parents were Michael Faraldo and Rosa Longone. I wonder if these names are still common in the area.
She settled in Utica New York around 1897.
Unfortunately the spellings have been corrupted over time and they might not be exact.

my gradfather, savario paciello, was born in sasso aroun1870. He came to the u.s. with his two cousins rocco and gerardo paciello. there are about 50 paciello's here in utica all decendants of the three cousins. i heard many fine things about your beautiful village. hope to visit sasso on my next trip to italy.

Sono nato e cresciuto, fino a 10 anni, a Latronico (PZ). Visito spesso molti siti dei comuni della Badilicata : il vostro è fra i migliori. Complimenti.
La prossima settimana , dal 25 al 28 di luglio, prevedo di recarmi ad Armento, Stigliano, Pisticci e Bernalda,per svolgere alcuni compiti, vorrei inserire, se possibile, una visita al Vostro bel comune.

Dear Members,
My maternal grandfather was born in the south of Brazil but his parents were born in Italy. Here are my great-grandparents:
Nicola Maria Michelangelo SICA, born Sasso di Castalda, Potenza, 29-09-1865 and wife, Rosa MEDICI, born Polla Salerno, 10-09-1868, married at Polla, Salerno on 07-12-1886. Rosa Medici was the daughter of Vicente MEDICI and wife, Maria Giuseppa CURCIO.
Nicola Maria Michelangelo Sica was the son of Rocco SICA, born Sasso di Castalda 1835 and wife, Maria Teresa DOTTI (died before or in 1886 and, I suppose, Sasso di Castalda).
Rocco SICA was born circa 1800 in Sasso di Castalda and was married to Catarina N.N. (her family name is unknown, for she used her husbands name in the death certificate which I have from their son Rocco, who died in the south of Brazil in 1925, aged 90).
My interest is in the genealogy of those people, I want to find my relatives from this side of the family and trace our ancentors as far in the past as possible.
I thank all those who can help me build this beautiful family tree of SICAS, DOTTIS, MEDICIS, CURCIOS and the other families which I am determined to find out with your help. There are several names already recorded in the most intersting website GeneAll.net. Please, visit it whenever you can and do not hesitate to email me if you think fit.

My great-grandparents (Guiseppe DeMari and Rosa Fittipaldi) emmigrated to America, along with their children (my grandfather, Eugenio DeMari and his siblings: Marianna, Adela, and Eduardo), in 1900 from Sasso. Guiseppe came over first in the late 1890's and then Rosa with the children. I would someday love to visit beautiful Sasso and perhaps gather further information about my family's history there.

I wish I spoke Italian. Oh well. I am researching my family history. My great grandparents came from Sasso di Castalda. They were Teresa Doti (b. Nov. 27, 1862) and Giuseppe (?Vincenzo?) Laurino (b. Feb. 10, 1852). They emigrated to the U.S. in the early/mid 1880's. I would love to find out if they had any siblings who stayed in Italy and who have descendents in Sasso today. I know that Teresa's father's name was Francesco and her mother was Annunziata Santangelo. They married in 1849. Phew! I learned all of this in the last two months. I hope to travel to Italy someday...not for Rome, not for Venice, not for Florence but to check out your comune. Sincerely, - Michelle

Mis bisabuelos ambos, Antonio Doti y maddalena Pagano nacieron alli en sasso di castalda, incluso tuvieron a gaetana su primera hija, luego emigraron a Paysandu. Uruguay, donde tuvieron 13 hijos mas, yo soy desdendiente de uno de ellos. soy sonia Dotti.
